Systems & Applied Work

A few personal projects where I explore multilingual UX, semantic search, and practical evaluation workflows. JusTreat is a recipe app for people and their dogs, built around ingredient data, safety constraints, and user-friendly output. JusType is a mindful typing app that combines classic literature with AI-generated content. JusTen is a semantic search experiment that returns relevant books from Project Gutenberg while exploring ranking logic and evaluation tradeoffs.

Front-End & Tooling

I build interfaces and small tools that make complex workflows easier to use. My work includes web and mobile UI development with attention to clarity, accessibility, and maintainable content structure.

English → Korean Localization

As a native Korean speaker, I focus on target-language clarity rather than literal transfer. In English-to-Korean localization, small decisions around tone, sentence endings, and terminology can significantly affect readability. Below are examples of Korean translations I produced for Riot Games Korea.

Korean → English Localization

Literal English translations of Korean content can easily sound awkward or ambiguous. My Korean-to-English work focuses on preserving the core meaning while making the final copy clear, natural, and appropriate for the target context. Below are examples of English translations I produced for the webcomics platform Rarement and its Instagram account.

Interpretation & Cross-Cultural Communication

Before moving deeper into localization engineering, I worked extensively as a Korean-English interpreter. At Samsung SDS, I provided consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for executive leadership, VIP meetings, and fast-moving business discussions. That experience continues to shape how I approach context, ambiguity, and cross-functional communication.
